What to Expect?

New Patient Consultation (First Visit)

At the initial consultation visit, our specialist will be pleased to address your orthodontic concerns, and answer all your questions. To save valuable time, you will be asked to complete a Medical & Dental History form, and Practice Privacy Consent form prior to your visit. Please download these forms under "Patient Forms" and bring them to your appointment.

Our specialist will diagnose your bite based on a thorough examination of your teeth and jaws. Additional diagnostic records (i.e. digital xrays, models) may be necessary to allow our specialist to complete your diagnosis and recommend the most suitable treatment approach for your individual case. An estimate of the treatment length and fees will also be provided at this initial appointment.

Records Visit

This appointment may be combined with your initial visit to reduce the number of visits to the office if you wish. Our specialist will decide which diagnostic records are necessary depending on your individual case. These may include any of the following:

  • Photos of the face, smile, and teeth
  • 3D scan of your teeth using the iTero Scanner
  • X-rays of your teeth and jaws

iTero Scanner

We are excited to introduce the iTero Oral Scanning System to our office. The iTero Scanner is essentially a wand that allows us to take 3D images of your teeth and bite in real time. Thanks to this advanced technology, we no longer need to take traditional impressions of your teeth.

WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF ITERO?
• No more messy, goopy impressions
• Pain-free scanning (Quick, gag-free experience)
• Accurate 3D technology is used to create the most precise Invisailgn aligners and allows us to visualize treatment outcomes on the computer in advance of your treatment!

Braces Visit

The placement of your braces or Invisalign appliance usually requires a longer appointment. Due to the nature and length of this appointment, it is normally booked in the morning or early afternoon (some exceptions apply). Every effort is made to accommodate your schedule and subsequent shorter adjustment appointments are booked either after school or on weekends if requested.

To ensure proper monitoring, your appointments will be scheduled at regular intervals throughout your orthodontic care. The frequency of these appointments will depend on your particular case.

Once the braces or Invisalign appliances are removed, you will enter into a retention phase. You will be fitted with custom-made retainers to maintain your new radiant smile. Retainers can be either removable or permanent and our specialist will recommend the retention protocol that is most appropriate for your case.
